Little Guys...

Okay this post is full of pictures of the 3 little guys. The events are mostly in reverse order, but I'm too lazy to fix it, so there! Here is a little snippet of what's been going on with the Batson Boys lately:


"Harvest Party" at preschool. Eli loves his class and his teachers! He frequently likes to give every friend a hug goodbye when it's time to go home!


The kids did a parade around the school and it was so cute to see them strut their stuff!



Eli and Noah wanted to play Jenga. So, I showed them how to do it. They didn't exactly play by the real rules, but they did a pretty good job of taking blocks out without it tipping over!




The next few pictures are from October 8th, just hanging around during one of Eli's soccer sessions. Happy times!

Every year on Labor Day weekend Spokane does "Pig out in the Park" downtown at Riverfront park. There are lots of food vendors and fun things going on. We took all the kids and they had a blast!

A busy season

There was a court of Honor in September and Eric was awarded 6 merit badges. He also was awarded his Star Scout. Really he's super close to his Life Scout Rank which is the last one before Eagle! He has worked really hard and sped right along in Boy Scouting. We're really proud of you Eric!





Eric also just finished his first football season. His team was the Mead Jr. Panthers. It was a learning season for Eric. There were 22 kids on his team and all but he and 4 others had played together for 5 years! He toughed it out though. There were a few really rough practices. They only lost one game and made it to the championships for their age. Sadly, they lost in the last game, but that's not too shabby for his first year! Eric is #42. WE didn't get a lot of good pictures, but at least it looks like a football game, huh?

Soccer Star

I think I'll let these pictures speak for themselves. Eli had his first season of Soccer. They didn't have any real games exactly, but don't tell him! He loved every second of it.

My Spiritual Lion

I was taking Eli to school on Friday. It was "harvest party" day, otherwise known as Halloween party day. So he had his cute lion costume on. We were almost to the school and he said, "Mom! We forgot to say the morning plair!" (that's Eli speak for prayer). I'll confess it's actually pretty rare for us to have a Morning Family Prayer. We nearly always do in the evening, but not so often in the morning. Anyway, this was the 2nd time he brought it up. And just as I did the first time, I asked if he would like to say one for us in the car. He definately wanted to, so it went something like this, "Heavenly Fodder, fank de for dis day. Please bless our friends and please bless the teachers and please help us have a good time at school. Name of Jesus Christ Amen."

Eli's creations

This is just a quick post because I didn't want to forget the cute things Eli did yesterday and today.

Here is his picture that he colored in his Sunbeam class yesterday. I guess it's of his family. I have no idea what the big blue squiggly is, probably something that makes perfect sense in Eli world. The faces are the family, obviously. Guess which one is Noah? That's right! The one with the tall spiky hair! I love it!

So, just a few minutes ago I was sitting down feeding the baby and Eli was back in his room. He was being really quiet. Usually that means he is up to something, hiding something, eating something he shouldn't, coloring on something he shouldn't, etc. You get the picture. All of a sudden he comes bouncing out of his room saying, "Mom! Look what I made!" And here is what he made:

Can I just say how much I love this child? I should say it more and out loud many times a day. Because, as much as he drives me to pull out my hair, he is so incredibly amazing I can't even believe he's mine. I love you little man!

Uncle Rex House!

We took a recent short trip over to the "West Side". That's what people in Eastern Washington call Western Washington.

We spent a couple of nights at Kendall's brother's house. The whole thing was pretty spontaneous and it turned out so well! We had a BBQ on the Monday night. It was pretty amazing that on that short notice, 2 of Kendall's other siblings were able to attend with their significant others. We had 4 of the 8 brothers and sisters as well as 9 out of the 21 grandchildren in one spot at one time. Pretty good for no advance planning!

6 Little boys! They were in heaven having each other to play with! Well, I guess Lucas didn't have a clue, but if he knew any better he would have been super excited!

Eli and Matthew in their favorite place...dirt! I joke now that they were twins separated before birth. They got along so well and neither one of them wanted the other to go away, EVER!

It was so much fun and I'm glad that we grownups had time to talk and hang out as well as giving the cousins lots of needed play time.

Visiting Grandparents

We finally decided that we needed to visit Grandmas and Grandpas. I say that plural because, all of a sudden, they live really close to each other. My parents and Kendall's parents now live just about 4 1/2 miles apart. Pretty cool, huh? The kids are having a great time and I think they now are convinced that they will always see both sets of grandparents on any given visit. Both G & G's happened to come up to Spokane for Kendall's graduation too, so the kids are getting used to the idea of 2 Grandmas and 2 Grandpas. Fun! I'm really happy that they can have this time together. We'll have a traditional BBQ for Memorial Day and I'll get good pics of everyone. I promise!

Eli loves to hold his baby brother. He's really proud of his accomplishments as a big brother.

Grandpa Batson is good at putting kids to work. I don't think he had to work too hard to convince Eli to dig a hole in the dirt though!
